Virginia Edna Stockton
1930-2013
Born October 18, 1930 in Haskell, Ok to Carl Otis Ridley and Nellie M. (Mashburn) Ridley, Virginia Edna Stockton, 82 years, 10 months, 15 days, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Claremore, OK.
Virginia attended the Choska school. She wore many hats during her working years which included alongside her husband Emett in the fields, as an electrician, owned and operated a daycare, for Haskell Foods Cannery, and her last job was that of a home health caregiver. She very much enjoyed fishing, crocheting, working puzzles and most of all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a long-time member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Haskell.
Ms. Stockton is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Nellie Ridley, husband Emett Stockton, Jr., and son Jackie Dean Stockton. She is survived by two daughters Deborah Cochran and husband Luther of Tahlequah, Jeanette Blair and husband Roy of Foyil, one sister Norma Davis of Catoosa, eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
Casket Bearers will include Billy Cochran, Dean Stockton, Greg Blair, Todd Stockstill, Chris Stockstill and Kevin Ridley. Honorary casket bearers will be Gary Davis, Gary Plunkett, Kyle Ridley, Terry Plunkett and Mike Plunkett.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 am, at the First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Ridley officiating. Interment will follow in the Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Dowdy Funeral Home.
