SOUTHWICK - William "Bill" Sylvester Fisher, 83, a former resident of Longmeadow and East Longmeadow, passed away on September 3, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Orange, MA and graduated from Orange High School. Bill proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Kleen Kars, Inc. of Springfield for over 45 years. Bill was an avid boater achieving his Captains License from the U. S. Coastguard. He served as a Past Commodore of the Springfield Yacht and Canoe Club, using his expertise to advance many projects for members to enjoy for years to come. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Imogene (Wallace) Fisher in 2010; his son, Mark Fisher in 2003; his parents, John and Doris (Gates) MacDonald; and his step sister, Joyce Rawson. He leaves his daughters, Chris-Ann Little and her husband, Alan of Southwick, MA and Julie Ives and her husband, Dave of Springfield, MA; his son, Curtis Fisher and his fiance, Jeanette of Port Orange, FL; his 13 grandchildren; his 13 great-grandchildren; his brother, John MacDonald and his wife, Jackie of Orange, MA; his sister, Shirley Demers of Suffield, CT; and his dear friend, Bess Stowell of Orange, MA. The family would like to thank Bill's best friend, Paul Vadnais for his friendship and support. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 2-6PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, MA. Family and friends are asked to gather at the funeral home on Monday, September 9th at 11AM for a funeral home service to begin at 11:15AM followed by committal prayers with Military Honors in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Agawam at 1PM.
