Mrs. Comfort of Johnsonburg, NY was a daughter of Alva and Helen Morgan. She was a school bus driver for 37 years and volunteered at WCCH and Meals on Wheels.
Her husband, Ronald Comfort, died Dec. 25, 1993.
She is survived by her children, R. Michael(Judy) Comfort, A. Joseph Comfort, Stephen J. (Cheryl) Comfort, Brian (Maria) Comfort, Jeffrey (Jody) Comfort, Rose Marie (David Aldrich) Comfort and Jason P. Comfort; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Sister Janice Morgan, Sister Carol Morgan, Margaret (Donald) Schrom and Jann (William) Greiner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Robert Schrom.Rose M. Comfort, age 76, of Johnsonburg, died Saturday November 13, 2010 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Judy Comfort in Johnsonburg.
She was born November 1, 1934 in Elmira, New York a daughter of the late Alva and Helen Morgan.
She was a school bus driver for 37 years, volunteered at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw; volunteered for Meals on Wheels, enjoyed playing Bingo and supported many other local organizations.
Her husband Ronald Comfort died December 25, 1993.
She is survived by her loving children: R. Micheal (Judy) Comfort of Johnsonburg; A. Joseph Comfort of Florida; Stephen J. (Cheryl) Comfort of Colorado; Brian (Maria) Comfort of Alder Creek, NY; Jeffrey (Jody) Comfort of Strykersville; Rose Marie (David Aldrich) Comfort of Attica; Jason P. Comfort of Johnsonburg; 14 grandchildren: Mary Beth, Jim, Jill, Christopher, Darren, Lia, Katie, Levi, Jessica, Troy, Jalyn, Jacob, Jena and Gus; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters: Patricia (Ray) Thompson of Elmira; Sister Janice Morgan, SSJ of Rochester; Sister Carol Morgan, SSJ of Clarence; Margaret (Donald) Schrom of Elmira; Jann (William) Grenier of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister and brother-in-law: Frances and Robert Schrom.
There will be no calling hours, at her request her body was donated to the University at Buffalo.
Her ashes to be interred in Johnsonburg Cemetery at a later date.
