Funeral services for Clarence Ray Huggins, Sr., 83, of Lufkin, will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Steve Killam officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.

Mr. Huggins was born March 17, 1930 in Wildhurst, Cherokee County, Texas to the late Etta Josephine (Kilgore) and John Thomas Huggins. He died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Huggins was a retired Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service, following 30 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Midway aircraft carrier. Mr. Huggins was an avid golfer and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He had lived in Lufkin for the past 49 years.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judy Huggins; sons and daughter-in-law, Ray and Tina Huggins, Richard Huggins; grandchildren and spouses, Vee and Wayne Haney, Rae Ann and Jared Ledbetter, Amy Huggins, and Kandi Chambers; great grandchildren, Jannah Haney and Justin Haney; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Travis Huggins and Claude Huggins; and sister, Willie Mae Huggins.
