SSgt TJ Lobraico, Jr, USAF., of Sherman, cherished son of MSgt Todd J. Lobraico and Maj. Linda (Strid) Rohatsch, and beloved stepson of Dr. Robert Rohatsch and Dianne Lobraico, was killed in action while serving active duty in Afghanistan with the United States Air Force. He was born in New Milford on November 23, 1990 and was a graduate of New Fairfield High School, Class of 2008. He attended Western Connecticut State University studying Justice and Law Administration and aspired to continue his public service as a police officer. TJ graduated from Security Forces Technical School with distinguished honors.

TJ was continuing the family legacy of military service that began with his grandparents. He was serving with the 105th Security Forces Squadron at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, NY, where his parents still actively serve. He had also served active duty with the USAF from 2010 until 2011 at Balad Air Base in Iraq.

TJ was known to live life to the fullest, he was spontaneous and could bring about laughter and joy in every aspect of his life and those around him. He was generous with a smile, or a kind word to anyone in need.
In addition to his parents and stepparents, he will be sadly missed by his sisters, Jessika Lobraico of Sherman, Haley Rohatsch of New Fairfield, and Alexa Lobraico of Sherman; his brother, Nicholas Lobraico of Sherman; his grandparents, Timothy and Kathy Cole of Sherman, Frank and Sally Lobraico of Sherman, Rob and Janie Rohatsch of Florida, Les and Charlotte DeBetta of Sherman; and his loving girlfriend, Jessica Germano of New Fairfield. He is also survived by his "brother from another mother," Jeff Archer; a devoted circle of friends; and his canine companion Gus.

Funeral Services will be held at the O'Neill Center at Western Connecticut State University Westside Campus on Friday, September 13th at 11:00am. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, on Church Rd in Sherman.
The family will receive friends at the O'Neill Center on Thursday, September 12th between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00pm. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SSgt. TJ Lobraico, Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Wells Fargo, 1 Eagle Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
