John Cicero Maney was the son of James and Barbara "Barrett" Maney. He was my great-great grandfather. He married in Shooting Creek, Clay Co., North Carolina on August 1855 to Jane Ann (Jennie) Moss. Together they were blessed with eight beautiful children.
1. Marion Leander Maney (on the census of 1870 he was six and it said Leander M. Maney the on the 1880 he was L.M. Maney). Sometime his name got changed around to Marion Leander Maney. How and why and by whom I will never know. I only know to my grandmother, mom aunt's and uncle's he was always Marion Leander Maney.
2. Salina Magdalene Maney
3. Harriet Louisa Maney
4. Marena Albertine "Rena" Maney
5. Marey Anna Maney

7. Milton Melvin Maney
8. Laura Marilda Cumi Maney
