Susan "Susie" A. Bailey, 61 years, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
A native of Frankfort, she was born July 20, 1949. She was a former state employee and a member of North Frankfort Baptist Church. Susan is survived by her children, Clay Thomas Bowman, Wilmington, NC, and Tresina Denise Dale, Frankfort; brother, Jeff Smith, Owenton; three sisters, Judy McConnell, Shelbyville, Linda Poor, Versailles, and Patricia Hall, Frankfort; and three grandchildren, Chadwick Dale, Andrew Dale and Ellie Dale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wayne Bailey; her parents, Chester Smith and Peggy J. Reynolds Beech; her paternal grandparents, Elzie and Mandy Smith; and two brothers, Michael and Dennis Smith.
Visitation for Susan will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at North Frankfort Baptist Church and Monday beginning at 11 a.m. Her service will be at the church on Monday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Bearers will be Jeff Smith, Robby Mattingly, Loren Smith, Silas Hall, Austin Purvis and Bryan Purvis. Honorary bearers will be Nancy Moore, Connie Sewell, Glenda Cable, Bethany Mattingly, Becky Fletcher, Bailey Mattingly, Paige Mattingly and her grandchildren.
