Margaret A. Bestard, 80, formerly of Jordan, died Wednesday at the Syracuse Home, Baldwinsville. Born in Oneida, Margaret lived with her husband, Charles A. Bestard in North Rose until his death in 1977. She moved to Jordan in 1978

A graduate from Le Moyne College. Margaret was employed by General Electric and later she was a Math teacher in the Port Byron School District retiring in 1988

Margaret was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Jordan. She was a former treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees of Jordan-Bramley Library. She was awarded the Trustee of the Year award in 1998 by the Onondaga County Public Library Advisory Council

She was a gentle, caring person who will be greatly missed by her friends. She was passionate about dogs and was an avid SU sports fan

In addition to her husband Charles, she was predeceased by her parents, Earl A. and Mary Burke Johnson and her brother, James Johnson. Surviving are cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, Jordan. Spring burial in Rose Cemetery
