John is survived by his two children, Lance Sprenkle of Winter Haven, FL and Kimberly Russo and husband Eric of Merritt Island, FL, his two beloved granddaughters, Gabrielle and Gianna Russo, his twin brother James Bailey "JB" Sprenkle, and his brother Richard Sprenkle and wife Roxie, both of Pompano Beach, his ex-wife Constance Paris of Martinsville, IN and multiple nephews and nieces. John was predeceased by his parents and his sister Carla Joan Sprenkle Salamone.
John graduated from the University of Florida ('67) with a degree in Pharmacy. Some of his greatest friends came from the colleagues and patients he met during his career as a pharmacist. He worked for Cunningham Drugs in the Fort Lauderdale area, Hooks in Indiana, Eckerd Drug in the Orlando area, and a handful of other smaller pharmacies. He retired from Publix Pharmacy in Pompano Beach 2011 and resided with his twin brother in the house in which they grew up.
John was a world traveler and talented photographer, backpacking several months each year across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and South America. His favorite country to visit was Ireland, where he felt instantly at home in their friendly pubs and bucolic countryside.
John was a member Broward Mensa, and an avid gardener. He will also be remembered for his strong sense of humor and love for his granddaughters.
John's ashes will be scattered at sea in a private ceremony to continue to travel the ocean currents of the world.
