Norma Jean Hodges Gibbs, 63, of 220 Blue Ridge Lane, Ridgeway, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at her home.

Born in Ridgeway on Oct. 31, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Joseph William Hodges and the late Nannie Eggleston Hodges. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and Raymond Hodges.

She bowled for several years in bowling leagues at Sportlanes and Druid Lanes, and worked for a number of years at Pillowtex. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband, Edward L. Gibbs of the home; two daughters, Jennifer L. Gibbs of Troy and Angela L. Gibbs of the home; one son, Randall W. Gibbs of the home; eight sisters, Bessie Acree, Jeanette Newman and Margaret Moore, all of Martinsville; Josephine Anthony of Collinsville, Betty Roark of Hickory, N.C., Daisy Gibbs of Pulaski; Ruth Hundley of Bassett and Sally Gamber of Colfax, N.C.; one brother, Bobby Hodges of Greensboro, N.C.; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Alvin "Joe" Nunley presiding.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
