Transcription of Obituary From the Marion Star Marion, Ohio(Marion County)Thursday, November 16, 1995 Marjorie L. Davis Marjorie L. Davis, 74, Marion, died Tuesday at MedCenter Hospital.Born Jan. 7, 1921, in Raymond, she was the daughter of Worley and Xema (Balo) Luh.On Aug. 11, 1945, she married James H. "Brick" Davis in Columbus, and he survives.She was a home economics teacher at Raymond High School. She and her husband were superintendents of the Union County Children's Home five years, and she retired from Waddell Village, after 19 years service as casework supervisor.A graduate of Raymond High School, she received her B.A. in home economics, and her M.A. in Social Work from The Ohio State University. She was a member of the Green Camp United Methodist Church, a 10-year member of the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Marion County, helped start the Home Health Services of Marion, and was active in the United Methodist women's groups and the We Care Committee.She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Melhorn, Dayton; Margot Dennis, Columbus; and Xema Davis, Columbus; a son, Jefferson H. Davis, Delaware; and four grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Davis, and two brothers, Marion Luh and Dr. Edwin Luh.The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lowell Headley officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Marysville, at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. tonight. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion County Cancer Society.
