ELLEN TAYLOR CARDWELL was one of the 16 children of Grayson Bradford Taylor & Catherine Rice of Anderson Co, KY.

She was married 27 Nov 1845 in Anderson Co, KY to Dr. John McArthur 'Jack' Cardwell (1821–1885), son of John R. Cardwell & Elizabeth Riggs.

Ellen & Jack were the parents of:
1) Bettie Taylor Cardwell (1848–1933), w/o Stanford D. Edmonds and Mr Lancaster.
2) James William Cardwell (1851-1855)
3) Richard Byron 'Dick' Cardwell (1853-1900) h/o Lizzie Montgomery.
4) Ellen W Cardwell (b 1857) w/o J. Milton Rodgers

After Ellen's death Jack remarried.

~James William Cardwell son of J.M. & Ellen C was born May 27, 1851
~Dick Byron Cardwell son of J.M. & Ellen C. was born July 24th 1853
~Ellen W. Cardwell daughter of J.M. & Ellen C. was born Feb. 14 1857
~Maggie Cardwell daughter of J.M. & Ellen C. was born Feb. 25, 1861 [NOTE - born 4 years after Ellen's death this was Mary's child, not Ellen's]
~J.M. Cardwell & Mary F. Bond were married December the 9th, 1858
~ J.M. Cardwell Husband of M.F. Cardwell Died Feb. 28, 1885
