Edward E. E. Hepler, 67, of Sugarcreek Township, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Armstrong County to the late James and Harriet (McNutt) Hepler. He graduated from East Brady High School in 1964. Mr. Hepler worked at Rexhide in East Brady from 1965 until 1976, when the plant closed. He then was employed at PennChamp in East Butler until 2001. He was a veteran, having served in the Army. Mr. Hepler was a hard worker and a dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Karen R. Hepler; daughter, Lori I. Shaffer and her husband, Benjamin Shaffer; grandchildren, Jonathon W. Elliott and his wife, Amanda Morris, of Rimersburg, David E. Elliott, of Rossiter, Amanda R. I. Elliott, of Rimersburg, Dakota C. Priester, of Adrian, Jasmine D. Elliott, formerly of Knox, and Kalei R. Shaffer, of Kittanning; and two great-grandchildren, of whom he was very proud, Ashlynn R. Elliott and Skyla R. Elliott, and two more great-grandchildren on the way. Mr. Hepler asked to be cremated. The family will hold a private dinner in his honor at his daughter's home. Arrangements entrusted to F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington.
