Rulon Dale Pickett, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 9, 2013, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Idaho Home Health and Hospice.

Rulon was born September 14, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ernest David Pickett and Sylvia Iola Mace Pickett. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Shelley High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class.

He married three times in his life tragically losing each companion too soon. He lost Lyda McMurtrey in November of 1957, Lela Mortenson in October of 1993, and most recently Margit Paulson Sage in December of 2011.

Rulon lived and farmed in the New Sweden area his entire life He was a member of the Methodist church and also a member of the Shelley Masonic Lodge #52. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and golf.

daughter, Janet Lynne (Doug) Jensen of Lumberton, TX,
daughter, Beverly Dawn (Jim Boyer) Pickett of Helena, MT,
stepson, DeLynn Paul (Mashell) Nedrow of Rexburg, ID,
daughter, Valerie Jean (John) McRoberts of Nampa, ID,
stepson, Jerry Lee Nedrow of Idaho Falls, ID,
son, Evan Dale (Wendy) Pickett of Idaho Falls, ID
20 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepdaughter, Paula Sensenbach; and 2 sisters, Helen Reed and Marjorie Mullen.

Funeral services, including full Masonic Rites performed by the Eagle Rock Lodge #19 AFAM, will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 -8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
