Betty J Adams, 82, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013. She was born April 16, 1931 in Teneha, Texas, daughter of the late Noble and Clotile (brown) Alford.

Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in North Carolina and Cedars of Lebanon church.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Jimmy Adams, Robert (wife Marie) F Adams; daughter, Mary Joy Meadors; brother, William "Dee" (wife Anne) Alford; 2 sisters, Jackie Allen, Tula Browning; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Adams.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 1pm to 3pm at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 3pm, with Pastor Danny May officiating.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.

Contributions may be made to the Shriner's Burn Institute.
