Former Alaska resident Sally Rae (Schneider) Hodl, 67, died Dec. 25, 2003, at home in Spokane Valley, Wash., after a brief battle with cancer.

A memorial service was Dec. 27.

She was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Spokane and attended Moran Grade School and Lindbergh High School. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1953.

She lived in Anchorage from 1976 to 1982 and worked at Anchorage International Airport. She was most recently employed by Independent Services in Spokane as a certified nursing assistant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Hodl.

Survivors include her children, Thomas Hodl, Robert Hodl, Elaine Hodl and Mark Hodl; brother, Robert Schneider; sister, Nancy Sweitzer; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
