Anna was known to the Tunall family as the former Mrs. Currin. The 1900 census says that she was married for the first time at age 24. Census records in 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 indicate that Anna immigrated to the US in 1872. The 1920 census says she became a naturalized citizen in 1877.
A Swedish death record index shows an Israel Bengtsson, born about 1820, death on May 13, 1868 in Nottja, Kronoberg, Sweden.
A Swedish church emigration record shows an Anna Lena Israelsdotter, born Mach 31, 1854 in Nottja, Kronoberg, Sweden departing from Nottja, Kronoberg for North America on April 20, 1872. She is identified as a daughter, unmarried, travelling alone.
Peter's US passport application in April 1912 confirms Anna's birthdate and states her birthplace.
Anna and Peter returned from a visit to Sweden, departing Liverpool, England on the ship Oceanic on July 31, 1912 and arriving in New York on August 7, 1912.
