Maude Grey Reeves, 83, died Nov. 9, 2001 at the Preston Health Center of Cypress. She was born Jan. 28, 1918 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late J. Chester and Maude Wheeler Grey.

She moved to Hilton Head Island in 1992 from Huntingdon Valley, PA. As a young girl, she resided in Ventnor, N.J. In 1939 she graduated from Beaver College with a B.S. in Home Economics. She was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, USA. She was a longtime member of Women Board of Beaver College, Women Board of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital of Phila. and Ladies Committee of the Union League of Philadelphia. She was a member of Settlement Music School and the Historical Society both of Jenkintown, PA, Daughters of American Revolution, Captain William Hilton Chapter, Colonial Dames, Modern Club of Philadelphia and The Pennsylvania Society of New England Women.

She is survived by her husband R. Norman Reeves, whom she married June 1, 1940, daughters Karin Peek of Warrington, PA, Laura Lafferty of Abington, PA and Cristy Robertson of Blue Bell, PA, a son Robert N. Reeves, Jr. of Gwynedd Valley, PA, a sister Elizabeth Stewart of Linwood, N.J., 7 grandchildren Heather Barnham, Cristy Allen, Caroline Goodson, Leslie Lafferty, Rob III, Jamie and Peter Reeves and 3 great grandchildren J. Michael and Jonathan Allen and Maddon Barnham. She was preceded in death by a daughter Greylin Talcott Goodson in 1983.

Services and interment will be held at Abington Presbyterian Church, Abington, PA, on Saturday Nov. 24 at 11 A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Rd, Abington, PA 19001. The Island Funeral Home.
