Jacob was probably born in 1796, as he is five years old on the 1801 census. His birth and baptism record aren't available since Fron records only go back to 1799, but he was likely baptized at the Kvikne Church. On the 1801 census, Jacob lived with his parents, Poul Gulbrandsen and Rønog Pedersdatter, on a tenant farm of the Huskelien farm (spelled Huschelien on this census). His father was a "husmand med jord" (tenant farmer with land). The Huskelien farm (61.56675 9.63194) belongs to Poul's father, Gulbrand Jacobsen, a 58-year-old widower in 1801. Two of Poul's brothers live on Huskelien in 1801. Also living with Jacob and his parents in 1801 are two brothers, Gulbrand (born ca. 1793) and Ole (1799 to 1802). He had another brother Ole born in 1804. On 25 Apr 1813, Jacob was confirmed at the Sødorp Church in Nord-Fron (confirmations are often not at the person's usual church), where he was mistakenly listed as Jacob Pedersen Huskelien.

On 30 Oct 1821, Jacob married Ingri Torgersdatter Haugen in a Fron church (probably Kvikne). They had two daughters: Rønnoug (born 28 Jan 1822) and Anne (born 28 Mar 1824), both baptized at the Kvikne Church. Jacob was a husmand (tenant farmer) living on Lien under Huskelien, when he died 2 Apr 1825, at age 29. His funeral was at the Kvikne Church 9 April, and he was buried in the church cemetery.

Gravesite Details

As is usual in Europe, his grave has likely been re-used, and there is likely no stone remaining.
