Charlotte, the daughter of William and Martha Holwell, was baptized in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Thornbury on July 14, 1772. She was married there on April 30, 1801, to Laurence Short, a clergyman. Apparently widowed by 1841, in later years she lived with her daughter, Harriet, and died during the summer of 1855 in the Barton upon Irwell area of Lancashire. She was buried on August 7, 1855.
