GREAT BARRINGTON, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - Mr. William A. Besancon Sr., ( 97y ) d: March 23, 1991 - of 9 Bryant Court died Saturday at Hillcrest Hospital. He was born in Becket on March 31, 1911, son of August and Lottie May Suriner Besancon. He lived for many years in Otis before moving to Great Barrington in 1960. He was an assembler at the former Clark-Aiken Co. in Lee for 36 years until retiring in 1976. Mr. Besancon's first wife, the former Juliana Reilly, died in 1958. He leaves his wife of 31 years, the foemer Margaret DeVaux; a son, William A. Besancon Jr. of South Egremont; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy L. Collins and Mrs. Judith A. Race, both of Great Barrington; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Karole Stockall of Sacramento, CA., and Ms. Judith Maeda of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Frederick Besancon of Otis; three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Sinclair of Lee, Mrs. Beatrice Young of Becket and Mrs. Irene Webb of Huntington; four grandchildren, seven step - grandchildren, a great - grandchild and four step - great - grandchildren. jar END:
