Jimmy W. Cantrel - Born in Guin, Alabama and a longtime resident of Saraland, died at his home in Gulf Shores on Tuesday, March 11, 2003. He was 60 years of age. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Charlotte Ann Cantrell; one son, Jimmy W. (Ashley) Cantrell, Jr. of Fairhope, Al; one daughter Kimberlye C. (Rhett) Williams of Prattville, AL; "Papa" had a special place in his heart for his five grandchildren., Chad, Blake and Natalie Williams, Josh Bray and Jordon Cantrell. He will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Mary Frances King of Mobile, AL; his sister-in-law, Linda (Leon) Waters of Jacksonville, Fl. and
his brother-in-law James A. (Julia) Young of New Bern, NC.
He was preceded in death by his father, Haston C. Cantrell, mother, Arlena Cantrell, brother Billy R. Cantrell, sister Melba C. Lynd. Mr. Cantrell retired in 2000 as Area Supervisor from UOP in Chickasaw after 36 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores and the Fishermen's Sunday School Class. the family would like to express gratitude for the kindness and compassion of Dr. Allen Patton and Dr. John McAtee. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be 12 noon till service time Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Wilton Bennett. Honorary pallbearers were Hugh "Posse" Parden, Neal Danley, Brent White and Floyd Stehler. Pallbearers were Clayton Phillips, Frank Brewer, Henry Mitchell, Jerry Deas, Tom Ederly and Lamar Haynes.
