Helen Thigpen Wilford, 78, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in Gainesville, Ga., after a short illness.

Helen was born in Monticello on May 30, 1926 and attended Monticello High School. She was married Nov. 5, 1944 to David Wilford.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Armstrong of Gainesville, Ga.; a son, Otho Wilford of Monticello; three brothers, Willie, Julius and Herbert Thigpen of Jefferson County, Florida; three sisters, Dorothy Alligood of Lawrenceville, Ga., Elsie Cason of Douglasville, Ga., and Grace James of Monticello.
