He joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and served with the Occupational Forces of Japan. He married Arlene Roberts in 1953. Mr. Delorey was a Boy Scout leader for many years and also served on the Board of Wardens at the Chester Congregational Church. He also served as Deputy Chief of the Chester Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. Mr. Delorey held memberships in the American Legion Post 108 in Chester and the VFW Post 1617 in Derry. He was the owner and operator of Delorey Plumbing and Heating in Chester for 42 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arlene (Roberts) Delorey of Chester; daughter Carolyn Lighthall and her husband John of Chester; son Alan Delorey and wife Barbara of Florida; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.
