"SHERIDAN — Wilburn Q. Benton, of Sheridan, Ark., was born February 16, 1918 at Tinsman, the son of the late Luther Q. and Betty Elizabeth O'Mary Benton. He was a member of the Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church, a World War II Army Veteran, a retired engineer with Cotton Belt Railroad, a member of the American Legion, VFW, and AF&E #953.
"Mr. Benton died Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Samantha Brumley Benton; a son, Walter Benton; stepson, Anthony Fielding; grandson, Johnny Nooner; step-granddaughter, Leigh Ann Gaddy.

Visitation: Friday, 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Clay Benton, Joe Benton, Glynn Nooner, Tony Puckett, Tony Fielding, Jonathan Funderburg, Andy Gaddy, Joey Gaddy.
