William F. Zastoupil, Jr.
William F. Zastoupil, Jr., 82, of 1721 N. 25th St., died Monday evening, Dec. 6, 2004 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Born Sept. 16, 1922 in Sheboygan to William and Eleanore {Kubel} Zastoupil, Sr., he was a graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1930 and also attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
William served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1942 to 1945, stationed for a tour of duty in Italy.
In August of 1947 William and Audrey Paasch were united in marriage.
Bill was the president of Leather Products, Inc., on S. Eighth Street in Sheboygan, a nationally known company that made harness horse racing equipment until his retirement. The company was started in 1928 by his father, William Zastoupil Sr. The business is still operating as Feather-Weight Turf, Inc. in Sheboygan, and is well-known for the wooden horse in the shop window.
Bill was a faithful member of St. John's UCC Church. For 13 years he also was a member of the American Legion Post 83. He enjoyed tinkering in his basement, and building and fixing things as a hobby. He and Audrey spent many happy times taking long drives along the countryside.
In addition to his wife, a resident at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, Bill is survived by his son {And Daughter-in-Law} of Austin, Minn.; four grandchildren, {One grand-daughter being} a student at UW-LaCrosse, {2 grand-daughters and a grandson} all of Austin, Minn.; one sister {And Brother-in-Law}, of Plymouth; and other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by an infant son, James; and a sister, Marion Seipel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at Ballhorn Chapels. The Rev. Gregory S. Whelton, pastor of St. John's UCC, will officiate.
A time of visitation and support will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery where military rites will be conducted.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of William F. Zastoupil, Jr.
Bill will always be remembered as a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a kind-hearted man who will be missed
