George D. was the oldest of four brothers, one who died in infancy, and one sister.
About 1899, George moved to Seibert, Kit Carson, Colorado to raise cattle. He met Evalena Viola "Lena" Rose in Seibert and the two were maried there on 27 Dec 1903.
The two shortly thereafter, moved to North Bend, Oregon, where George worked in the undertaking business for several years.
Somewhere near 1917, they moved to Inperial Valley, California where George worked as a ditch rider for a water company. He later took over as the superintendant of the company.
Accoding to a letter written and published in a newspaper by his wife, Lena, George and Lena traveled to Siebert, Colorado from their home in California. They departed their home on 15 Jun 1921, traveling up to San Francisco, then east through Reno, through Wyoming, arriving in Seibert, Colorado on 5 Aug 1921. She reported a great trip, but was looking forward to returning the their home in California.
Some time before 1930, the couple moved to Brawley, Imperial County, California.
George died in Brawley, California by heart attack on 13 Jul 1935. He is buried in Riverview Cemetery, in Brawley.
George and Lena, never had any children.
Lena remarried to an Otto Kinkel in 1945. Lena died Nov 1947, and Otto died in 1948.
