Abbie J. Berry, 72, passed away Dec. 1, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 5 at North 27 Worship Center in Richmond, IN, with Pastor Robert E. Johnson and the Rev. Daniel Moses officiating. Interment was in Elkhorn Cemetery.
Mrs. Berry was born Feb. 14, 1933 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Vernon and Bertha (Mathis) Sherrill.
She was united in marriage to Roy Berry on Dec. 4, 1949, a union that was blessed with two daughters and two sons. She had lived in the Richmond, IN, community most of her life. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the North 27 Worship Center. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and her two schnauzers.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Berry; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Pastor Robert E. Johnson and Paula Berry Allen and Donny Allen, all of Richmond, IN; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Carol Berry of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, the Rev. Daniel Moses, Christopher Berry and Cherish Metsch; three great-granddaughters; sister, Dorothy Heise of Crossville; brothers, Ralph Sherrill and Jack Sherrill of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews. She was also looking forward to the birth of her fourth great-grandchild in May 2006.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rickey E. Berry on June 8, 2004; and brothers, Lowell, Olan and Pat Sherrill.
