Frederick Barnett "Fred" Carlton, Sr. entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto after a brief illness. He was born May 12, 1929 in Arkabulta, MS to Lonnie Earl and Mildred Lampkin Carlton. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in Okinawa. He established a reputation as a fair and honest business man, first in service stations and subsequently as an oil supplier. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Glen Ellis Carlton, Jim Ray Carlton, Charles Earl Carlton and Lindley Allison Carlton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Haven Carlton; sister, Margaret Carlton Dicken (Les); sons, Frederick B. (Rick) Carlton, Jr. M.D. (Kay), Vernon Earl Carlton (Debbie) and Phillip Bruce Carlton, grandsons Frederick B. (Eric) Carlton, III (Gin Gin) Christopher H. Carlton DMD, Benjamin S. Carlton, Robert Earl Carlton (Nikki), Vernon Allen Carlton (Stephanie) and Joseph Henry Carlton; and four great grandchildren.
