Dorothy L. Sandow of Saginaw, Michigan, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at the age of 80 years. Dorothy Louise Wietfeldt was born on October 11, 1932, in Midland, to the late Edwin Henry and Mabel (Kube) Wietfeldt. She was married to Howard H. Sandow on February 11, 1966, and he predeceased her on August 6, 2013. She was a member of Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church, where she had sang in the Choir, served on the funeral luncheon committee and helped with the annual Sauerkraut Supper for many years, she also served on the Ladies Aid Society and Ladies Guild. Dorothy had worked in the Accounting Dept. at Weichmann's for several years. Surviving are four brothers and four sisters, Richard, Harold, Paul, Walden, Mary Jo, Ann, Laura, and Lois; also several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A special "Thank You" to Barbara R. Smith and Lance Smith for the loving care they gave to Aunt Dorothy. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church, 600 Court St. The Rev. James F. Krueger will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Cross Ev.
