KILLED IN CAR CRASH
Mrs. Hermen Steckel, of Quincy, Formerly Lived in Emporia.
Mrs. Herman S. Steckel, 49, a former Emporian, was killed Saturday evening in an automobile accident near Quincy, her home. The accident occurred when a daughter, Miss Grace Steckel, lost control of their car after meeting a truck, according to reports. Grace Steckel was not seriously injured. The car turned over into a ditch and was badly damaged.
Mrs. Steckel is survived by her husband; three daughters, Misses Frieda and Josephine Steckel, who attend the Teachers College, and Miss Grace Steckel, and by her father, Arthur Howell, of Sterling. Mrs. Steckel's maiden name was Pearle Howell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Quincy. Interment will be in Maplewood cemetery in Emporia.
