The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M, at the Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Fitzhugh was born March 1, 1932 in Halls, TN, the daughter of John & Birdie (Taylor) Walpole.
On September 1, 1947 she was united in marriage to George Fitzhugh, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1974.
She is survived by her children, John (Ronnie) Fitzhugh of Michigan City, Mary Tavernier of Edwardsburg, MI, Larry (Judy) Fitzhugh of Westville, Grandchildren, Stacey, Mikie Reed, Jeff Fitzhugh , Ryan (Trina) Fitzhugh, Jacob, Carianne and Kristen Fitzhugh, Great Grandchildren, AJ Reed, and Eric and Alexander Fitzhugh.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Special Sisters-in-law's Gena & Sheila.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother, James Walpole, and Son-in-law, Cary Tavernier.
Mrs. Fitzhugh was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening , crossword puzzles, and Reading. Most fondly remembered as a Mother, Grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandsons, and her poodle (Chigger).
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donors Choice.
