He worked as a farmer, preacher, railroadman and businessman in Indiana before moving to Clearwater in 1955. Clayt enter the ministry in 1922. He was a pastor in the Free Methodist Church and before his business career held four pastorates and served as an evangelist.
He is survived by his wife, Lilly, 3 sons, Dwane, Don and Robert and 2 daughters Rachel and Imogene. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mildred. He had 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
L.C. Cassidy & Sons, Inc. in Indianapolis was dissolved and became L.C. Cassidy & Son, Inc. when one of the sons bought out their father, shortly after Clayt moved to Florida.
