David Tally Bays, age 86, formerly of Alamogordo, NM passed away on September 18, 2013, in Clovis, NM. David was born on August 10, 1927, in Cloudcroft, NM the son of Jess and Lena Tally Bays.
David married Dorothy Mae True on April 6, 1946 in Tucumcari, NM.
David honored his country with service to the United States Coast Guard and the U.S. Air Force from 1944-1952.
David is survived by one son, Darrell and Karen (Kelley) Bays of Bridgeport, TX. Grandchildren: Chris Mitchell of Clovis, NM, Rebekah (Mitchell) and husband Sonny Wallace of Chico, TX, and Tania Bays of Vancouver, WA. Great-grandchildren: Ethan Henson and Alexandria Mitchell of Clovis, NM, and Sandra June, Raylana, Jackson and Carolina Wallace of Chico, TX, a sister Mayme Runyan and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. David is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, parents, two sisters, Betty Curry and Letha Keller.
Arrangements are under the care of Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Graveside services for David Bays will be held September 23, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo, NM.
