Obituary:
June 1, 1992, Monday, Naomi E. Cates, 81, Boise, died Saturday at the home of her daughter in Eagle. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, at Kohlerlawn cemetery, Nampa. Pastor John Sheese of the Eagle Seventh Day Adventist church will officiate. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral chapel, Nampa.
Mrs. Cates was born Dec 3, 1910, at Fairview, Montana, where she was reared and educated. She married Grey F. Cates on Sep 16, 1930 at Tuttle, North Dakota. In 1950, they purchased a home in Boise. They moved to various states, including Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon, due to Mr. Cates being employed in Construction work. Following his retirement, they returned to their home in Boise. Naomi worked in various motels in the Boise area, retiring at the age of 80. Mr. Cates preceded her in death on March 16, 1987.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivor's include two son's, Clarence D. Cates of Boise, and Lawrence G. Cates of Estacada, Oregon; a daughter, Louella J. Miller, of Eagle; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert, a daughter Frances, two brothers and a sister.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association of Idaho, or flowers may be sent. Friends may call today and Tuesday from 9 a.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon at the Alsip funeral chapel in Nampa.
