Charles was born on November 20, 1925, in Knapp, Wis., to William and Ida (Hase) Dunn. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Charles married Doris Schlottman on January 3, 1948, in Wheeler, Wis. They farmed in the Boyceville area. He later worked at Sanna Dairies in Menomonie, and then for Presto Industries in Eau Claire before retiring. He enjoyed rebuilding horse-drawn sleds and buggies.
Charles is preceded in death by his father; one brother, Jim; and one granddaughter, Heather.
Charles is survived by his wife, Doris Dunn of Boyceville; one daughter and three sons, Linda (Joe) Dunn Rammer of Chippewa Falls; Dan Dunn of Red Wing, Minn., Gary (Becky) Dunn of Boyceville and Dale (Kathy) Dunn of Boyceville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his mother, Ida Dunn of Knapp; two sisters, Bernice (Fred) Degido of St. Paul, Minn., and Mildred Rice of Knapp. He is further survived by nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at Anderson Everts Funeral Home in Glenwood City, with Pastor David Guerraro officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
Friends may call on the family from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
