Born in Norfolk, she was a Baptist.

Survivors include her mother, Connie Ruth Dawley, and her father, Rick McElhenie; two sisters, Tonya Lynne Dawley and Christy Marie Dawley; maternal grandparents, Violet G. and Robert P. Shank of Virginia Beach; paternal grandparents, Grace D. and Otho P. Sloane of Portsmouth; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, by the Rev. Jeff Young. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Memorial donations may take the form of contributions to help defray the burial expenses and may be sent to Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462.
