David Robert Brandt passed away at age 52 on November 19, 1998. He valiantly battled cancer by using holistic means for 3 years. Next to our Savior, he is the greatest man we have ever known. How do we pay tribute to such a man?

He was born in Boise, Idaho to Robert Waite and Corinne Williams Brandt on September 1, 1946. He moved to Salt Lake City when he was 3 months old. He attended Olympus High School. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout which he held dear to his heart. He served an L.D.S. Mission in Southern Australia. He married his high school sweetheart Gwendolyn Elizabeth Lesher on December 8, 1967 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. He graduated in Industrial Arts Education from Brigham Young University. He taught seminary for the LDS Church for eight years. He opened his own State Farm Insurance agency in 1979. He has been employed there since that time. He has served in various organizations in the LDS Church and loved serving in the primary the most. He was currently serving on the Board of Directors for Park Plaza Resorts in Park City, Utah.

He had an unusual zest for life. He touched many lives. To know him was to love him. Up until his day of passing, his outlook on life could not have been more positive. He radiated his enthusiasm to all who knew him. His loves are his family, camping, tennis, people, the LDS Church, missionary work, travel, music, shopping, his primary children, fine cuisine, antiques, challenging games, outdoors, working with shop tools, his '65 and '72 Chevy trucks, and most of all his Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his dear and loving wife, "Gwennie"; children, Angela (Kenny) Hovey, Mark (Lori) Brandt, Mathew (Christy) Brandt, Kristin (Michael) Fellows, Nathan, and Starlyn; his parents, Robert and Corrine; sister, Carolyn (Lynn) Michaelis, his grandchildren, Ajay, Ashton, Brooklyn, and Victoria; parents-in-law, Wesley and Eliza Lesher. We love you, our beloved David.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 23, 1998 at 12 noon at the Crescent Park 4th Ward Chapel, 10885 South Pampas Drive (835 East). Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, and at the ward from 10:30 to 11:40 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
