RAY: Benjamin Howard Gearing, 101, of Ray, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Sunday, December 20, 1908, son of the late John M. and Bessie O. Garver Gearing. Benjamin was the widower of the late Eunice Fern Graves Gearing.

He was a counter operator for Mead Corporation for 30 years, a member of Union Local 731 and was an avid fisher and hunter.

Benjamin is survived by sons, Lloyd (Loueda) Gearing of Londonderry, Ronald (Margery) Gearing of Ray, and Roger (Nancy) Gearing of Londonderry; daughters, Donna Jean (Royce) Scheeler of Ray, Peggy Lynn (Frank) Frizzell of Tarlton and Cheryl (Stephen) Davidson of Londonderry; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents; and wife; he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Debbie Bledsoe and Randy Gearing; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. James McFadden officiating. Interment will be in Londonderry Cemetery, Londonderry. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 5-8 p.m.
