On September 12, 2013 Alexandra Martin Brooks passed away. Alex was 10 years old. Alex was born at St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL on September 10, 2003. Alex was an exceptional student in the fourth grade at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach and enjoyed competing in barrel racing competitions, most recently the Florida Youth State Finals in 2012, with her beloved horse, Strategy. Alexandra loved to sing with her friends, play board games and fish with her father, and play with her dogs, cats and turtles. Alex was popular at school, and her smile and laughter will be missed by her teachers, classmates and friends. In July, Alex attended a Brooks Family reunion in North Carolina. It gave her extended family a chance to know the sweetness, kind nature and humor of Alex. Alex is survived by her father, Bradley; half-sister, Morgan; half-brother, Colin, and her maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Martin Hewson. She is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18 at The King's Academy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alexandra Martin Brooks scholarship fund at King's Academy, 8401 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33411.
