Wash Christian, 78, Dies At Northport
Wash Christian, 78, well known Northport resident, died Thursday afternoon at his home on Columbus Street after an extended illness. Mr. Christian had made his home in Northport for the past 15 years. For the past several years he had been inactive on account of ill health.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Jim Christian, of Northport; two daughters, Mrs. J.W. Hardin and Mrs. S.G. Williamson, both of Northport; three sisters, Mrs. Tom Powell, Mrs. Fant Vice and Mrs. Merriweather Hamner, all of Northport, and four grandchildren, Nellene Hardin, Dot, Nell and Gene Oswalt.
He was the father of Mrs. David Oswalt, who drowned with her husband in Yellow Creek five years ago.
Funeral services were to be held at 4 p.m. this afternoon from the residence with interment in the Williamson Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the rites will be Howard Maxwell, Lethcer Williamson, O. Snider, Boston Wheat, W. D. McClindon and Earnest Mills.
