Daughter of George Clifton Demmon and Lula Isabel Page.

Fitchburg High School class of 1935;
Burbank Hospital School of Nursing class of 1940;
Earned B.S. in Nursing from Boston University, 1950.

During her career, Ms. Demmon worked as a head nurse at the Lucy Helen Hospital Maternity Unit, as well as the Visiting Nurse Association in Fitchburg.

She enlisted in the US Army Nurse Corps, serving overseas during WWII. During her service, she earned the Asiatic Pacific Medal w/ 1 Bronze Star; WWII Victory Medal; and Honorable Service Lapel Button (Ruptured Duck). After her discharge, she was appointed Asst. Chief of Nursing at the V.A. Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire.

She had many artistic talents, including writing. She was presented the Outstanding Woman Veteran of the Year award in 2005.
