She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James E. "Pete" Baker, daughter, Beverly Aaron, son, Larry Joe Baker, parents, Louella Awtrey Shoemaker and Willie Cecil Shoemaker, Sr., brothers, W.C. Shoemaker, Jr., Jack Shoemaker, Carl Shoemaker, sisters, Lydia "Dee" Roper, Margaret Parker and Sue Putnam. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry B. Parker(Chester), grandsons, Scott Parker, Brad Baker, Jim Baker, granddaughters, Stephanie Aaron and Ashley Carter, great grandchildren, Katelyn Parker, Anderson Parker, Tony Baker, Brad Baker, Thomas Baker and James R. Baker. Norma was formerly a member of Central Park Baptist, Hunter Street Baptist and Westwood Baptist Church (Forestdale). Currently she was a member of First Christian Church. She was laid to rest in private graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery on Tuesday September 17, 2013 with Ridout's Elmwood Chapel Directing. Memorials can be made to First Christian Church, 4954 Valleydale Road, Birmingham, AL. 35242.
