On February 22, 1877, Mary G. Bothwell and Dr. George Sibley Cassin were married in Augusta, Richmond County, GA (Richmond County Marriage Book 1874-1878, p. 238). They were married by Rev. Dr. Robert Irvine, D.D. of the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta; James T. Bothwell, Ordinary.
Dr. and Mrs. Cassin had several children: Eleanor Belle "Nellie", Georgia Agnes (Mrs. James Alfred Corbett), Mary Ethel, Henry Russell "Harry", Thelma E.(Mrs. John Harry "Jack" Brough) and Infant Cassin.

Well-Known Lady Passes Away at Her Home This Morning
Mrs. George S. Cassin, 40 years of age, died last night shortly after midnight at her residence, 13 Hill Street. Her illness was only of a few days' duration, and her untimely death was a great shock to her family. Mrs. Cassin had lived in Atlanta for many years and was well known throughout the city. Her death will be sincerely mourned by her innumerable friends. Her husband preceded her to the grave just six months ago.
The funeral arrangements have not yet been made. The body will be interred in Oakland tomorrow.
