Hammond- Mrs. Ruth Snell. 74, Ruther Glen, Va, formerly of Hammond New York died December 31 at her home.
The funeral was held Monday from the Fox Funeral Home, Hammond with the Rev. L Everett Waite, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband Harry; one daughter Mrs. Walter (Pauline) Reed, Ruther Glen; three sons Virgil, Ruther Glen, Robert of Richmond and James of Piketon, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one brother Erwin Petrie, Redwood, NY, an aunt Lucy Wilson, Hamilton, Ont, nieces and nephews.
A granddaughter Barbara Snell and two brothers Loren and Raymond predeceased her.
Mrs. Snell was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Hammond and the Willing Workers of Calaboga.
She was born July 26, 1907 in the town of Rossie,NY the daughter of the late Thomas E and Alta Baldwin Petrie. She was married Jan 31 1928 in Ogdensburg,NY.
They lived in Hammond area for many years , spending the past few winters in Virginia.
