MR. C. L. T. DIONYSIUS
GATTON, Nov. 24.--The death occurred in the Wondai Hospital last week of Mr. Carl Ludwig Theodore Dionysius, aged 84 years, a well-known and highly respected resident of the Gatton district . Deceased was born In Germany, and came to Queensland as a youth. Prior to settling in Queensland the late Mr. Dionysius was a sailor, and, after quitting the sea, he accepted jobs of varying kind in different parts of the State. Soon after his marriage to the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Weter he selected land at Rockside. Enduring all the hardships of the early pioneers, deceased soon had established himself as a successful farmer. In 1922 he sold his Rockside holdings and purchased a farm at College-road, asbout 1½ miles from Gatton. Several years ago he and his wife retired to Southport and lived there for five years before Mrs. Dionysius died. Deceased was possessed of a bright and cheerful disposition, which endeared him to all with whom he was associated in business and social activities. Deceased is survived by seven sons--Messrs. Henry (Murgon), William (Tingarra), Charlie (Murgon), Paul (Gatton), Albert (Rockside). Otto (Laidley), Ernest (Kingaroy) and four daughters-Mesdames W. Dau (Mt. Whitestone), C. Wendt (Nobby), W. Althaus (Lowood), J. Davidson (Beaudesert) - 11 great grandchildren.
