Sylvia (McGrath) Crawford, 54, a longtime Ellensburg resident, died Monday at Mount Vernon following a long illness. Mrs. Crawford was born in Ellensburg on September 14, 1932 to Jack and Eleanor McGrath [Claude Laverne Harrel and Eleanor McKenzie].

She was graduated from Ellensburg High School, attended Central Washington University and married Jack Crawford on January 22, 1955 in Ellensburg. Mrs. Crawford worked for the Rainier National Bank in Ellensburg and Mount Vernon before retiring in June 1986 due to ill health. She and Jack moved from Ellensburg to Puyallup and then moved to Mount Vernon in 1967.

Survivors include her husband at the home; one daughter, Kim Ryan, Anaheim, California; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Ken Cigich, Orange, California; one son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Susie Crawford, Mount Vernon; one son, Kevin Crawford, Davis, California; parents, Jack and Eleanor McGrath, Ellensburg, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Owen Kastning, North Bend, Nancy and Kevin Connolly, Mercer Island, and Claudia and Ray Rominger, Arlene and Art Stoltman, all of Ellensburg; one sister, Zelda Taylor, Santa Monica, California, two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Roxanne McGrath, Toledo, Oregon, and Chuck and Nancy McGrath, Detroit, Michigan, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Family graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday in the Mount Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday in the First Methodist Church, Mount Vernon. Memorials are suggested to the North Puget Oncology, P. O. Box 410, Sedro Woolley, WA 98284, or favorite charity.
