Marjorie A. Keller, 107, Peru, passed away at 8:02 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Dukes Memorial Hospital. She was born in Burnettsville on July 13, 1906, the daughter of Brasier E. Strasser and Minnie Beatrice Hardin. Marjorie married John E. (Jack) Keller on Aug. 27, 1922, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1968.
Marjorie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Burnettsville High School. She owned and operated Kellers Kleaners of Peru until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and a senior regant. Marjorie was a life member and past president of the Dukes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Miller's Merry Manor Auxiliary, Salvation Army board of directors, the Altrusa Club and the Business and Professional Women. She rang the bells for the Salvation Army every year at Christmas and took tickets at the Peru Circus for 38 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Wolf, Peru; a daughter-in-law, Helen Keller, Logansport; grandchildren, Vincent (Doris) Wolf, Bunker Hill, Alan (Chris) Keller and Patrick Keller, Logansport, Beth (Ron) Stone, Anderson, and Marjorie (Manuel) Zamora, Colorado; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Donald and Thomas Keller.
A service celebrating the life of Marjorie A. Keller will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St, Peru, with Pastor Stephen Quinlan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport. Family and friends will gather from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
