George W. Adams, 85, of Parkersburg, passed away August 19, 2013 at his residence.

He was born August 19, 1928 in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Howard W. and Stella Chapman Adams.

George had retired from O'Ames and was a member of the Celebration Center of Belpre.

Surviving George are his wife G. Maxine Forshey Adams, sons David Adams of Walker, Jeff Adams of Parkersburg, eight grandchildren Abigail, Samuel, Joey, Charity, Ben, Tim, Caleb, Sarah, four great grandchildren, sisters Clara, Rose Mary, Dorothy Mae, brothers Delmar, Joe and Calvin.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two brothers Phillip and Stephen.

The funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Rob Clegg officiating. Burial will be at the Lubeck Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
