George F. Woodle, Jr. died peacefully Aug. 13, 2013 at the Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born May 1, 1934 in Buffalo, NY to George and Anita Woodle. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps at a young age and proudly served his country. He married his highschool sweetheart and love of his life Paula Raymond Dec. 4, 1954.

He filled his days playing Senior Softball at Gateway Park and managed several teams oner the years in the Gold Country Senior Softball Association. In 2002 he was given the title Manager of the Year and in both 2002 and 2012 lead his team to win the GCSSA Championship. He absolutely loved playing ball, happiness to him being out on the field, in the sun amongst all his friends. But most of all, he loved the comerodery of his teammates.

George was preceded in death by his wife Paula and sister Winifred. He is survived by his sister Gloria and his children; son Jim, daughter-in-law Cyndy, granddaughters Angie and Tina; son Alan and daughter-in-law Lori, grandson Greg; daughter Diane, grandson Alex, and granddaughter Natalie.

There will be a graveside service at Alta Mesa Memorial Park in Palo Alto, CA on Aug. 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM.

His teammates will honor George for his loyal service and dedication with a toast on the ballfield, (time and date to be determined).

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you send your donations to your local hospice.
